Thank you

April 14, 2019

Thank you to everyone who has donated to The Carey Projects. Our family is grateful for your love and support during this challenging time. In addition, the funds are helping us focus our time, and thoughts about Carey, toward something positive. The messages have been a way for us to start healing, whether it be fond memories of Carey or the personal losses many of you have shared. It gives us a way to connect with you, in a personal way, which we appreciate.

We met our initial goal of $25,000 given the generous donations we have received from you. In the interim, we have worked with The Munk One program and will be setting up an endowment, as a way for the projects to fund itself for the many years, if not lifetime ahead. There are many details to work out, however, this is the best way to ensure Carey's legacy, and your donations will last!

With the support of Munk One, we are about halfway toward our initial endowment goal. This is a huge accomplishment in a short amount of time. We wanted to reach out and update you on our plans as you are an integral part of the implementation of The Carey Projects. To continue to work toward the endowment, we have increased our goal, which is currently at $35,000 with a longer range of $80,000. Please feel free to continue to share our campaign with others you believe want to join in. People are welcome to donate here or send to The Carey Projects, 60 Valentine Road, Northborough, MA 01532.

Owen, Cheryl and Will are in the beginning stages of working with universities to develop a model of suicide prevention through pro-active planning, appropriate resources, and ongoing student support. Will has worked tirelessly to unite students who brought the mental health issues to light at the University of Toronto. We will periodically update you on our progress on all fronts.

All our gratitude,

Cheryl, Owen, Kile, and Will
